Wolf Clan Anishinaabe, is a grandfather, veteran, writer, speaker, and photographer from the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation. At 9 years old he was adopted by the Kannons in Middle Tennessee as part of the 60’s Scoop Legacy. Numerous experiences of life led him back to the Indigenous community.
The vision and love of community is presented here as spiritual portrait of a people coming into their own again as Ancestors.
“Come Grandchildren, let me show you the beauty of your Ancestors”
Yellowwing Indigenous Photography: People often don’t make total sense when judged by a universal colonial standard. Only when we discard any preconceptions trimmed of distractions can we see the thriving beauty and balance in their unique geometry.
Our Ancestor’s Art on hides followed no standard aspect ratios. We use free form expression flowing naturally like a Round Dance, taking up only the space it needs to achieve a moment of perfection. These photos are all tuned for the eye to comfortably gaze upon in cherished moments or to easily behold for Time Immemorial.
